Adfinis’s Secretz Enterprise Achieves Red Hat OpenShift Certification and Joins the Red Hat Ecosystem Catalog

The OpenBao™-based secrets management solution Secretz Enterprise has been officially certified for Red Hat OpenShift and is now part of the Red Hat Ecosystem Catalog – an achievement that gives organisations direct access to a turn-key solution that protects and secures their most sensitive data.

BERN, SWITZERLAND – Adfinis announces the official certification of Secretz Enterprise for Red Hat OpenShift, providing enhanced reassurance for organisations in addressing a common yet critical priority when scaling operations and AI-based workloads: delivering enhanced protection for sensitive data. Secretz Enterprise is the open, simple, and reliable solution for securing application secrets and machine identities. The subscription provides 24/7 enterprise support and software assurance for OpenBao while following a predictable, flat-fee pricing model.

This certification strengthens Secretz Enterprise, and consequently OpenBao, as an enterprise-grade, identity-based secrets and encryption management system that can be integrated into Red Hat OpenShift and the extended Red Hat ecosystem. Adfinis, who brings decades of open source IT experience and is an active co-maintainer of OpenBao, spearheaded the certification as part of its mission to provide enterprises with sustainable secrets management across their cloud native and hybrid cloud environments. The certification also places Secretz Enterprise within the Red Hat Ecosystem Catalog, an online directory of products and services that are optimised to perform with Red Hat technologies.

The verification of Secretz Enterprise via Red Hat’s software certification program delivers distinct advantages for enterprise DevOps and security teams:

  • Streamlined deployment: Operators can locate and deploy Secretz Enterprise, which is based on the upstream OpenBao container images and Helm charts, directly through the Red Hat Ecosystem Catalog. This accelerates time-to-deployment, especially for air-gapped and offline environments.
  • Rigorous compatibility verification: The certification validates Secretz Enterprise’s performance on Red Hat OpenShift to enhance the security posture of both containerised VMs and modern microservices.
  • Simplified compliance mapping: For businesses navigating strict data sovereignty and regulatory requirements, utilising a certified open source solution on Red Hat OpenShift reduces security assessment overhead.
  • Collaborative ecosystem growth: The certification reinforces the commitment to digital security tools that stay open, transparent, and accessible for every organisation.

In addition to being a co-maintainer of the OpenBao project, Adfinis is also present in the OpenBao Technical Steering Committee (TSC). Adfinis’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Michael Hofer, chairs the TSC and facilitates the expansion of the OpenBao project. Drawing on a decade-long collaboration with Red Hat, Adfinis led the certification efforts. Since Secretz Enterprise is built on an “upstream-first” commitment, this achievement also directly benefits the broader OpenBao project.

About Secretz Enterprise
Secretz Enterprise is the open, simple, and reliable solution for securing application secrets and machine identities – eliminating secret sprawl and associated risks through automated rotation, JIT access, and full auditability via a unified API. The subscription provides 24/7 enterprise support, software assurance, and continuous development for OpenBao. By utilizing an unrestricted, predictable flat-fee pricing model, it eliminates the "Success Tax" of proprietary alternatives – where per-identity or per-client licensing forces teams into punitive "Architecture by License" workarounds – reducing annual spend by up to 50%.

As an OpenBao co-maintainer and Chair of its Technical Steering Committee (TSC), Adfinis follows a strict "upstream-first" strategy, contributing all improvements directly back to the OpenBao project. Consequently, customers eliminate vendor lock-in and reclaim data sovereignty – whether deployed as a self-managed or tailored managed service. Teams retain the freedom to drop the subscription at any time with zero migrations and zero infrastructure changes to achieve truly sustainable secrets management.
