Adfinis received SUSE’s Solution Provider of the Year award. Later in the year, Adfinis proudly celebrated its 25th anniversary – with 150+ employees across six countries, it marked a quarter century of shaping the digital landscape with robust and reliable open source solutions that the world can depend on every day.

Adfinis’s global growth saw expansion into New Zealand and the founding of Adfinis Egypt, strengthening Adfinis’s ability to provide high-quality solutions to clients worldwide.
Adfinis won the GitLab Services Partner of the Year award for APAC, building on the same honor achieved in 2023 for EMEA.

Adfinis Germany was founded, further expanding the company’s European presence.
Adfinis was honored with two major recognitions in the same year: the HashiCorp Focus Partner of the Year award and the GitLab Services Partner of the Year award, both for the EMEA region.

Michael Moser was appointed CGO (Chief Growth Officer), bringing momentum to Adfinis's strategic expansion. Gil Oliveira became CCO, and Michael Hofer took on the role of CTO. With Nicolas Christener as CEO and Thomas Köchli as COO/CISO, the executive leadership team was well poised for further growth.

Adfinis became Switzerland’s first GitLab Select Partner, underscoring deep expertise and leadership in DevOps and open source innovation.

Adfinis SyGroup was rebranded as Adfinis, a word that stems from Latin and conveys a sense of being closely connected or kindred in spirit/trust. Adfinis Netherlands and Adfinis Australia were founded, enabling 24/7 service and strengthened presence in the Benelux region. Adfinis also became a GitLab partner and a HashiCorp Hyper Specialized partner.

Adfinis SyGroup was recognized as Best Partner of the Year from both SUSE and Red Hat, recognizing the company’s dedication to open source. In the same year, the company achieved Microsoft Gold Partner status, and they were honored as Best Newcomer at the DINAcon Awards.

Adfinis SyGroup received the SUSE Innovation Award for their contributions to open source. Together with Collabora, they brought LibreOffice to iOS. The company also partnered with Nextcloud, Mattermost, SoftwareONE, and HashiCorp (the first in Switzerland), strengthening their expertise in infrastructure as code, cloud native, and self-hosted collaboration solutions.

Adfinis SyGroup expanded its strategic partnerships with SUSE, Collabora, and ownCloud, while achieving Red Hat Advanced Partner status. The opening of a new office in Zurich further reinforced the company’s national presence in Switzerland.

Adfinis and SyGroup merged to form Adfinis SyGroup AG, combining their expertise and growing to more than 30 employees. The new organization opened an office in Basel and became a Red Hat partner, further strengthening its enterprise open source capabilities.

Adfinis and SyGroup each celebrated their ten-year anniversaries, marking a decade of innovation and steady development in open source solutions.

SyGroup secured a major public sector contract to roll out Linux desktops for the canton of Solothurn, and they also became a Univention partner. During this period, both Adfinis and SyGroup expanded their operations, moving into larger offices to support their growth.

Adfinis co-founded LOTS (Let’s Open the Source), Switzerland’s first nationwide open source conference, which connects the tech community, public administration, and academia, and strengthens the country’s open source ecosystem.

Adfinis opened its first office in Bern, Switzerland. Driven by strong web hosting demand, the company quickly became one of the largest sources of internet traffic in the region, laying the foundation for future growth in open source infrastructure.

Adfinis, as you know it today, was formed from two different companies: Adfinis was founded by Michael Moser, Matthias Blaser, and Claudio Fasciati. SyGroup was founded by a young group of open source enthusiasts – among them, Sven Leser (CEO) and the late Daniel Aubry (a technically gifted software engineer).
